About Dr. Ruggieri
Dr. Ruggieri was first introduced to chiropractic in her undergraduate program at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, PA. The school wanted to inspire the new generation of students to choose preventive and wellness care careers. Dr. Ruggieri learned and saw how chiropractic could focus on advancing one’s health beyond just getting out of pain. When people start improving the function of their nervous system through chiropractic care, they tend to be happier, take less medication, have more energy, have fewer injuries, and overall do more things they enjoy. She found something special about going beyond preventing health problems and helping them thrive in life.
A month before starting chiropractic school at Parker University in Dallas, TX, Dr. Ruggieri had gotten a severe herniation in her low back. Every movement caused her to have excruciating sciatica pain down both legs. Her orthopedist expected her to recover within five months, but with chiropractic care, she recovered much quicker and could move to Dallas without any pain. The injury ultimately wore out the entire disc in her back which caused her to have severe degenerative disc disease. However, she can return to her favorite activities and hobbies with regular wellness chiropractic care.
Dr. Ruggieri occasionally got an appointment at the student clinic to manage her back. She started to get weekly adjustments once she got more comfortable with her school schedule; that’s when she noticed a deeper level of healing and saw the neurological benefits. She struggled with her attention span and reading smoothly and took twice as long to complete any test or assignments. Once she started getting weekly adjustments, she noticed that her doing schoolwork became more easeful, and she had more control over her anxiety. Dr. Ruggieri realized from her discovery that she wanted to specialize in brain-based chiropractic care.
